One day, every person has to take an important and responsible step - choose a profession. Some people, from early childhood, are faithful to their dreams to the end, while others analyze themselves, their interests, and another one lights up. I belong to the second category. My childhood dream is to become a primary school teacher.
As the years passed, I realized what attracted me to this profession. It was direct work with people, an opportunity to show my creative potential. Later, I found many other specialties that combine these qualities, and decided to try myself as a journalist.
It was the most accurate hit!
I managed to find a circle of people in my city who are involved in this activity and join them. For almost two years now I have been studying at the Unpress club of the Donetsk Republican Palace of Children and Youth Creativity and have a clear understanding of journalism.
To be honest, when I went to this club, I thought that my profession consisted of writing dry texts and filming ordinary, unremarkable stories that later appear on local TV channels.
I want to dispel these stereotypes because many people still hold them.
To be a journalist means to be an interesting person, a pleasant conversationalist and to have a broad outlook. People in this profession have to work with materials on a wide variety of topics.
For example, a journalist cannot interview when he is not interested in the respondent, his life and activities.
Therefore, willy-nilly, you even have to learn about the latest trends in economic growth in different countries and about the features of the arc aspect in astrology. It follows that to be a journalist means to constantly develop.
People in this profession often never experience a lack of communication and unforgettable emotions. It will not be difficult for them to make useful contacts and communicate on an equal basis with socially different people. These could be mayors, artists, politicians.
By the way, about them: I completely agree with the statement that journalists are the fourth estate. They are people who can influence society. However, this must be done with special responsibility, because every incoming information, whether oral or written, can be compared to a weapon.
It is very important in whose hands it is and where it is directed.
To be a journalist means to have no doubt that the relevance of the profession will soon decline and it will be replaced by artificial intelligence, which is so widespread these days. People always need and will need new information. And the main task of a media worker is its collection, processing and transmission.
Now I have highlighted some advantages in the profession of a journalist, however, there are also many disadvantages. This includes emotional overload, long working hours, the burden of other people’s problems, and many others. But I can say with confidence that only a person who loves his profession can overcome all the difficulties that come along the way, becoming a true master of his craft.
I once interviewed a woman who devoted her entire life to art - her favorite work. And when I asked: “How did this happen?”, she replied that she simply loves what she does. Can you imagine? He just loves. From that day on, this thought is still in my head. Love what you do. This is happiness!

A lot in your life depends on what educational institution you go to after school and what kind of work you do. The issue of earning money is important, but much more important is whether you will love the business you are doing.
If you are judged by your age, then this is very stupid. After all, it’s not your age that matters, but what you can give to your employer.
I chose the profession of a journalist. What makes this profession interesting? Being a journalist is more of a way of life than a profession. A journalist must inform people as widely, objectively and truthfully as possible. The ability to present, tell, write - this is the skill of journalism.
Moreover, it is advisable to write on paper, since it allows you to “talk” to yourself, that is, even if you are not going to re-read the text, you will still re-read it at least once when reprinting it in electronic form.
Also, a good journalist must have acting skills, because in the USSR the main profession was that of an artist, and then a journalist. Although in Soviet times there was no journalism as such, and journalists were then called soldiers of the ideological front. Now, unfortunately, there is no journalism either.
There are only individual journalists, but they are not engaged in informing the audience, but in serving the authorities, they promote and explain state policy. There is so-called “opposition journalism,” but even this engages in propaganda.
A real journalist is a huge data bank; he cannot help but know what happened 50 years ago. Nowadays, it seems to me that journalism is a clan of professionals who, unfortunately, are leaving for social networks.
In France, journalism is called the “fourth estate,” but Vladimir Pozner fundamentally disagrees with this, because in Russia we only have the “first estate,” so what kind of conversation can there be about the “fourth”?
Journalists are “temporary people”, they change the world, influencing what people think and what happens in society, they are the mass media that tunes everyone. But the Internet is not media, it is a Means of Mass Expression.
People from the Internet, as they are now called bloggers, are not responsible for what they write, and a journalist cannot afford this.
As for the news, there is no positive or negative news, there is simply NEWS, and we already evaluate them.
It is often said that news cannot have a point of view. Not true, maybe! It is in all our news, you just need to be more careful.
“Freedom of speech” is a very important aspect, but every freedom comes with responsibility. The smaller our audience, the greater the freedom of our speech, such is the current freedom of the press.
And a journalist must check every word for truthfulness, because freedom is not will, there is a very big difference. Try not to use obscene words on social networks, find aphorisms, thereby enriching your vocabulary.
And in general, speech needs to be purified and obscene language must be fought!
As for talk shows, this is hardly a subject for discussion today. As a rule, it is determined to surprise the viewer, and as people age, it becomes more and more difficult to surprise people. The foundation of a talk show is a good host. It should evoke sympathy or antipathy in the guest.
But there is one trick - there is no “middle”, the guest will not have a mixed opinion about you.
And a good presenter is a person who, over the years of his work, has not only “raised”, but also “lowered” famous people, and lowered them in such a way that for a very long time they could not “rise” to at least their previous position.
Talk shows bring us information and compete with the Internet. And one of the main rules of both a journalist and the host of any talk show is the “rule of fast work”, they have no concept of “tomorrow”, there is only “yesterday” and a little “today”!
I would like to share the advice that Nikolay Fomenko gave to young journalists: “Never give up! To lead, use your body 200% and never stop there.
If our country has good presenters and journalists, then our best will remain with us! Journalism is the work of the individual, the individual, not the collective. It's a very competitive environment. If a journalist wants to succeed, then he needs to be number one.

Why do I want to become a journalist?
There are many professions in the world, but one of the oldest is journalism. Which profession should I choose? I have been looking for the answer to this question for a very long time. I was attracted to different professions: doctor, teacher, translator, but nevertheless, after talking with many people, I decided to focus on the profession of journalist.
As J. Pétan said: “Politicians care about a bright future, historians care about a bright past, journalists care about a bright present.”
It is important for me to decide now on my future specialty, since in a year I will be a graduate. Therefore, when choosing the profession of a journalist, I focused more on what was more interesting for me to do.

For me, the profession of a journalist is the best. I won’t be modest, I’m probably also attracted to her by her interactions with famous people. After all, probably everyone dreams of seeing a person who evokes his deepest respect and sympathy, and talking to him. And interviewing such a person is, in my opinion, a pleasure.
I hear a lot of ironic and often sarcastic comments about journalists. They are accused of everything: bias, deceit, pursuit of sensation, commercialism. But I want to speak out in defense of the people of this difficult profession, a profession without which no civilization is possible.
Without reporters, who, as a rule, are fed by our feet, we cannot get the latest information about what is happening in the country and the world, or comprehend what is happening.

It makes your brain boil, doesn't it? Doesn't it seem so easy now? And this is only a small part of the life of any journalist. They talk about things that others are afraid to even think about. They expose lies and point out our vices.
They are constantly under pressure from those who do not benefit from the truth being heard. Many have laid down their lives so that we know the truth. Here's a sad statistic:

Why I want to become a journalist
Throughout our lives, we are forced to choose one thing from a mass of everything else, be it the choice of school, class, clothing, or even just food. But at the moment, like many of my peers, I am faced with a difficult decision at first glance - the choice of a future profession.
This question has interested me since early childhood. I once dreamed of becoming a waitress. Wear a nice uniform, hold a notebook in your hands and smile sweetly.
Probably, my girlish dreams were influenced by bright Hollywood films about the American dream, in which the life of a simple waitress from a diner was filled with adventures.
However, having matured and realizing that the uniform may not be so beautiful, and being on my feet for a day is unlikely to be a reason for a sincere smile, I decisively put this childhood idea in the farthest drawer. However, like the old “vehees” videotapes with those same stories about the fascinating life of waiters.
The older I got, the more concerned I was about my purpose in this life, namely what I had to connect with my whole life. Thoughts about my future profession turned out to be so frequent, spontaneous and wonderful that it would be appropriate to use a merciless “montage” and list only a few of them.
So, over the past two years, I have successfully played the role of a teacher, lawyer, flight attendant, biologist, veterinarian, photographer, and even an astronaut. My noisy job fair ended with the dream of a career as a translator. That is why I calmly chose English as one of the subjects of further and deeper study.
But as it turned out, this choice was wrong. The epiphany happened right in front of the admissions committee table. Apparently, it was no coincidence that a specialist from the Department of Foreign Languages lingered in the endless corridors of PSU, and, taking advantage of this circumstance, fate focused my gaze on Saula Viktorovna.

Journalistic articles are, first of all, information presented in a competent, engaging and accessible manner. I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but in the profession of a journalist there is much more prose than sublime poetry. When will I become a journalist
Have you ever thought about what you will do when the limit of your dreams is reached? When will what you have been waiting for so long be right in front of you? I often turn these questions over in my head and try to imagine my dreams in reality. Remember how in childhood each of us fantasized about who he would become when he grew up, in what area he would develop? Someone dreamed of becoming an outstanding doctor and saving dozens of lives every day, someone dreamed of becoming an artist who would be a source of inspiration for a large number of people. For some, this desire has strengthened and become a goal, while others remember these childhood dreams with a smile. My dream of becoming a journalist became a goal.
Throughout my childhood, I constantly went through all possible areas of activity in my head. I was interested in everything and absolutely different things. I wanted to know what each profession was like. I began to notice that I was not indifferent to the events happening around me, that I liked communicating with people.
After the rise in popularity of journalist Yuri Dud, whose work greatly inspires and motivates me, I realized that all my vague childhood dreams could come true if I played the role of a journalist. At that moment, it seemed to me that journalism was a great opportunity to develop in different directions and not get hung up on something of the same type.
From that moment on, the journalistic sphere absorbed my essence. As I grew older, I began to understand that desire alone was not enough and that I needed to look for opportunities to prove myself and learn even more about journalism. Here I began writing articles, correspondent activities, and visiting various editorial publications. It became such a part of my life that at some point I realized that this is exactly what I need in life.
From my own experience, I have already realized that the word has great power, so one of the most important principles in my future profession will be responsibility for words and being an honest journalist. As Mayakovsky said, the word is the commander of human power. The opinion of the people largely depends on the words of the journalist. Not everyone can be convinced of the reliability of the facts, so all that remains for the public is to believe. It’s sad, but even among journalists there are those who do not respect their word and their people. Those for whom reputation, honesty and devotion to their people are not as important as popularity and money. Inaccurate information appears in the media every day. A striking example of a person for whom money and popularity came first is William Randolph Hearst. This is a man who, in order to increase circulation, published controversial articles in which he was ready to spark a war between Spain and America.
However, there are other journalists for whom the truth is a matter of honor. They did not sell for any amount and were not afraid to be heard. An example of such a journalist is Anna Politkovskaya. She was an outstanding journalist, her materials about the events in Chechnya were translated into various languages of the world. Anna was not afraid to get to the bottom of the truth and tell it to the whole world. She was punished for her courage and honesty; Anna Politkovskaya was shot in the elevator of her own building in 2006.
Objectivity is another quality that I must take hand in hand when I become a journalist. A competent member of the media should not influence the opinion of the people. Its main task is to quickly collect, process and, of course, present relevant information in a competent and accessible manner. The reader has the right to decide for himself through which prism he will look at the situation.
My ideal material is associated with the words “brevity” and “conciseness.” As A.P. Chekhov said, the art of writing is the art of abbreviation. “Throwing water” in the work of a journalist is unacceptable. I realized this after reading the book “Write, Reduce.” Maxim Ilyakhov and Lyudmila Sarycheva use specific examples to show the pros and cons in information, advertising, journalistic and journalistic texts. The main idea is that you need to remove all unnecessary things from the text, make it understandable, easy to read and useful for the reader. Having all these qualities, I am sure that I will be an excellent employee and that I will be able to bring reliable information to the masses. And most importantly, when I become a journalist, I will feel happy, because the little girl’s dream has come true, and she is ready to conquer new heights, set new goals and achieve them.
Journalist is my future profession
From early childhood we dream of becoming adults, starting a family, going to work every day, like our parents. But childhood passes, and the time comes to seriously think: “Who do I want to become?” I, like other children, have been asking myself this question since I was five years old. Then, after watching enough Brazilian TV series, I simply dreamed of being an actress. But this is just a child's dream.
Now I already know for sure that the work of a journalist is my calling. I decided to become a journalist two years ago. Why does this profession attract me? First of all, because she is interesting and creative.
After all, it’s just wonderful when you wake up in the morning and don’t know where you’ll be sent, what hot spot of sensational events you’ll end up in, who you’ll have to communicate with, whose fate you’ll take part in! There is some mystery in this work. I dream of having my own youth magazine.
I know teenagers have a lot of problems. Often these problems have a great impact on their character, views, and personal life. Due to some conflicts or failures, they do not think about school, about loved ones, about their future. They care about this problem.

teenagers choose the “only right decision”: they start drinking, smoking, taking drugs, and trying to commit suicide. And my magazine will help such guys find the really right solution.
In addition, I want to help girls with my advice to improve their personal lives in the “SOS” section, for this I must get a degree in psychology.
This thought came to my mind a long time ago, since my friends often turn to me for help.
I read books on practical psychology and find in them answers to many questions that help me in life. So I want my advice to help girls solve their problems, because it often happens that it is easier to pour out your soul to a stranger than to a very close one. I also want photographs of girls to be published in my magazine.
Not fashion models, but ordinary girls. After all, everyone dreams of appearing on the covers of fashion magazines. Why not help? I think what attracts me to being a journalist is interacting with people.
After all, I will get to know them more and more every day, and participate in their fate, if only because they simply entrusted me with their story. A journalist, in my opinion, is the most interesting profession. Interesting and very responsible.
When I feel like I have to do something useful for people, I understand that someone needs me, which means I don’t live in vain!
