For me, courage is a person’s ability to make the right decision on time. Sometimes taking responsibility for your chosen actions can affect not only your life, but also the lives of those around you. Courage is also an internal struggle with oneself, during which a person must independently decide and overcome himself, which is most often quite difficult.

Many people are accustomed to the fact that courageous actions are performed during heroic events, for example, during a man saving a drowning man or during military operations. I agree that during the war, many soldiers showed courage in their actions, because fighting for their homeland is an act that not every person dares to do. Defending your homeland and loved ones from the enemy is an act that cannot but be called courageous.

But courage can help not only in extreme life situations, but also in those when it comes to love. An example of such a situation is the novel by A. S. Pushkin “Eugene Onegin”, namely Tatyana’s act. After all, what could be worse than confessing your feelings to your loved one, and Tatyana did it. Even though her feelings were ultimately rejected, she did something very brave and decisive for herself. And I think he deserves respect, even though he is not heroic.

But is every person capable of a courageous act? I think not, because in order for an action to be truly courageous, you need to overcome your fear or feel the danger by receiving a dose of adrenaline. Also, the fear of doing something very often prevents us from moving forward, striving for our goals and learning a lot of new things, which can often become the cause of complexes. That is why it is worth thinking about whether you should be afraid of something that cannot harm you. If you do a brave thing once, at least for yourself, then in the future it will help you cope with many difficulties.

I believe that courage is an excellent character trait, thanks to which you begin to respect a person. People with this quality control themselves, their actions and emotions. And a person must show courageous and decisive actions in almost all situations, if necessary. But if a person does not possess this quality, then many life choices can turn out to be the most terrible problem for him.

Essay 2

Nature has instilled in humans the instinct of self-preservation. Thanks to him, we experience fear, which makes us avoid danger. But if initially everything was simple - people were afraid of predators, strong brothers, the forces of nature, then with the development of society, fears became much more complex. Modern people are afraid of much less obviously dangerous things - difficult conversations, uncomfortable situations, public speaking, spiders, failures, illnesses. This list can be continued almost indefinitely. But since ancient times, man has learned to overcome his fears. Go hunting in the forest to feed yourself and your fellow tribesmen, fight with your own kind for the best place in the cave, challenge the gods. Such people began to be called daredevils. They were respected and set as an example, because they were the ones who became good hunters, leaders or heroes.

Such a respectful attitude towards courage can be seen among different nations. Where people were faced with the need to fight for their lives, there were always brave men. They made up fairy tales and legends about them; from childhood they were set as an example for children, so that they could look up to brave adults and grow up like them themselves.

Each of us has heard since childhood that being brave is commendable. Our favorite fairy tale and cartoon heroes were brave. We knew that they, too, were capable of experiencing fear, but I could overcome it. This is how we learned to act bravely.

However, courage does not mean abandoning common sense. Understanding the danger, sensibly assessing our strengths and foreseeing the consequences is as necessary a thing for us as courage. Not all situations necessarily require a worst-case, most dangerous scenario. If you can try to minimize the risks, then it is worth doing. No one needs vain and stupid sacrifices.

Dangers have not disappeared from human life in our time, even if some of them have taken a different form. Few people today face the problem of protection from wild animals, for example. But everyone is familiar with the situation when bandits or hooligans can attack you. Nature no longer frightens people as much as it did many years ago, but even today scientists, doctors, and rescuers challenge it and go into battle against forces that are in many ways superior to them.

Of course, courage comes in different forms. Someone will stand up for a stranger, someone will go against traditions, and someone will be able to step over themselves. People tend to be afraid of many things. But the more fears surround them, the more acutely they feel the need for courage. Someone else's, one's own, common.

There have often been moments in history when the courage of a few or an entire people determined the future of millions of people. It happened that brave actions ended tragically. Heroes died, remained misunderstood, and suffered defeat. But still, the very spirit of courage, manifested in their words or actions, continued to live on. And one day he found those whom he could lead to victory. After all, without courage there would be no development of human society - there would be no discoveries, no revolutions, no movement towards progress. Courage allows humanity to look into the future, make plans and dream. Courage gives us the ability to admit past mistakes and learn from them. Finally, courage makes us strong and resilient, keeps us from falling and helps us rise to move on. Step by step.

The concept of courage and its impact on life

Courage refers to the strong-willed qualities that characterize self-control, along with the concepts of endurance and determination. The definition of courage (or, in other words, bravery) is as follows: this is the ability (innate or developed) of an individual to suppress the instinct of self-preservation and the defensive reaction that manifests itself in fear, decisively controlling one’s consciousness, behavior and actions.

In fact, there is nothing shameful or unusual in the appearance of fear. This is a defense mechanism of the body that occurs regardless of the will and desires of the individual. And just the same, a brave person is one who knows how to maintain composure in any situation, effectively eliminating the manifestation of biological reactions. Courage can and should be developed, because it is this irreplaceable character trait that helps people believe in themselves, decisively move forward, achieving their goals and expanding their horizons of possibilities. It was not without reason that they said in Rus': “The city takes courage,” “Where there is courage, there is victory.” And these proverbs have been fully tested by time and people.

Reasoning

There is a misconception that a brave person must be fearless. Such men or women, without a shudder of heart, looking danger in the face and ready to go ahead. In reality, crazy people behave this way. Fear is inherent in each of us and its level is not a criterion for determining true courage. It warns a person against a threat, helps to overcome an emergency situation and be safe.

Courage is determined by a person's behavior in the face of danger. Not a single war was complete without the exploits of soldiers. However, here we are already talking about courage. The guys deliberately went to the point of bayonet, knowing that death awaited them. There was wild horror in the eyes of the military, but they moved forward. Does the soldier’s inner voice call upon him to risk his life? No. He orders to get away from the front line and return home, to warmth and safety. Nobody wants to put themselves in danger. But sometimes people decide to do something with trembling throughout their body - this is true courage.

This quality is extremely important in everyday life. Sometimes you need to put yourself in harm's way to protect your girlfriend or stand up for a random passerby. Give a presentation to the public. In many ways, of course, self-confidence plays a role, but you can’t do without courage. Even a student who answers questions from a teacher about course material feels at least a little tense. Thoughts may be spinning in your head: “God, I’m about to be asked a difficult question, but not this, I wish this nightmare would end.” What to say about the exam? Yes, what also decides here is the fact that the person is aware of the full responsibility of his actions and cannot simply run away home, but to some extent he acts contrary to the calls of fear, so to speak. Simply put, you are afraid, but you do it.

It seems to me that true courage is not always determined by actions that appear courageous in the eyes of the public. To understand this, you should consider a real-life situation. A drunk man is rowdy in the entrance, instilling fear in the residents. People don't want to get into conflict with him and call the police. All squads are busy and the district police officer is located closer to this house. A peace officer enters the entrance alone. Need I say that the district police officer is experiencing some anxiety, because he doesn’t know exactly what he will encounter, whether this person is armed? Not everything is so simple here. Some emergency services personnel who have dedicated many years to their work become overconfident over time. What does it mean? A police officer who encounters drunks and drug addicts every day knows that messing with them is not a very safe activity for his own health. Every employee is aware of this. But they see such horrors that for them it is normal. And here, relying on his experience, the district police officer can no longer feel strong fear, as he did at the beginning of his career. Attention, accordingly, is dulled. An inner voice says that the danger will be minimal. Anxiety, if there is any, is small. The district police officer overcomes the discomfort without much effort, apprehends the drunk and becomes a hero for the residents.

Vasya from the fourth floor, an ordinary student, suffers from an anxiety disorder. He sees danger in everything and everywhere, and cannot feel safety in his own apartment. Panic attacks for trivial reasons make this person not even go out to the store. One day, despite his anxiety, he decides to go outside. Going down the stairs to the first floor, she feels how anxiety turns into fear, which threatens to develop into something more... It seems that there is not enough air, I urgently need to return to the apartment. But Vasya goes outside, despite his own feelings. Question: whose action was more courageous - the district police officer or Vasya? At least Vasya was no less brave.

Based on this, we can draw a logical conclusion: true courage is simply necessary for humanity - without it, fear will drive us into a corner.

Courage - what is it?

Bravery, bravery, courage, boldness, fearlessness - these are the qualities of a real hero from any literature. But should only a soldier or a great warrior be a daredevil?

This quality will be useful to everyone in life: both a child who has to visit the dentist and a woman going to the maternity ward.

Courage is the ability to overcome your fear, cope with complexes and doubts, and fulfill your duty.

This is the ability to do what is needed and should, without fear or unnecessary thoughts about negative consequences.

In addition, this quality allows people to express their opinions, not be ashamed of their beliefs and, if necessary, go against everyone in order to achieve justice.

Is it possible to recognize a brave person by his appearance? We immediately imagine a handsome handsome man with squared shoulders, confidently looking into the future.

A kind of avenger hero from Marvel comics. He feels the strength to fight injustice, and in a fluttering cloak he rushes towards the next criminal.

An elegant, attractive image, but it has little relation to reality.

A true daredevil can be a quiet, calm, outwardly undistinguished person . Imagine an ordinary accountant who accidentally learns about cases of theft in his company.

A coward will leave everything as it is, but one who has an inner core will not be afraid to go against the system.

He will openly act as a witness, collect evidence of theft, present it to the court for further proceedings and help achieve a fair punishment.

Courage may be quiet and unnoticeable, but the world is a better place thanks to the brave hearts of everyday people.
