What could be more useful and enjoyable than reading? Most smart people achieved their high status precisely through reading literature (depending on its genres and subgenres). Through reading, mind-blowing results are achieved, if only because on the pages of books one gets acquainted and communicates with philosophers, writers, biologists, physicists, public figures and other significant people with whom personal, real communication is impossible due to either language and spatial barriers, or reason that they are dead.

Thus, a person has an amazing opportunity to penetrate their experiences, worldviews, ideas, concepts and conclusions, and, based on his own multifactorial analysis and reflection, accept or reject this or that component.

Considering this issue from a purely pragmatic, i.e., material point of view, the results of diligent and thoughtful reading are noticeable here too. For example, people who read and are intellectually savvy more often achieve the desired success, adapt to changes more easily, but remain opposed to innovation. It is more difficult to put them in an awkward situation, and it is difficult to manipulate them in order to suppress their obstinacy. In most cases, they themselves determine what, when and how to do it. They treat the state with fears, wanting to make their contribution to building a great future.

Reading also immerses the reader in the world of fantasies and dreams, which are so necessary in a complex, suffocating environment, when problems press in and crush any glimmers of happiness with their burden.

The benefits of reading are invaluable and colossal in scale. Ignoring this possibility of knowledge of the principles and laws of man and his environment, the universe, we are doomed to dominance in our coordinate system of herd animal instincts, which we must diligently suppress in any manifestations. The method for this suppression is reading, analysis of current events, rational and critical thinking.

Essay 2

From time immemorial, through books, humanity has passed on its knowledge and experience to future generations. Such an invention of civilization as a book cannot be overestimated.

When reading, certain parts of the brain actively work in a person, memory improves, horizons broaden, vocabulary is abundantly replenished and speech develops; all this is just the tip of a huge iceberg of the benefits of a book.

A person who reads a lot is interesting to communicate with; there is always something to talk about with him and you can learn a lot from him. Such people are quite often creative people, because their imagination is active. Even reading a favorite adventure novel, or an intriguing detective story, a person not only spends his time excitingly, but also comprehensively develops as a person. An individual who has not read a single book in his entire life is a distant person with whom there is simply nothing to talk about.

In addition, a book can be good entertainment, no worse, and perhaps even better, than any film. A person can find like-minded people, discuss and analyze fragments from their favorite works. In the book, any plot you can imagine is possible and everyone can always find something they like.

Starting to read a new book, a person goes on a journey and plunges headlong into the world created by the author. He can visit other continents, planets and even worlds. Learn about the culture of other peoples and much more.

Thanks to the book, we are given the opportunity to understand how this or that author of absolutely any era thought. You could even say that the book is a kind of time machine.

Nowadays, media sources promote monotony, but a book can develop your own opinion and personality. Just remember how artificial the world was without books, as described in Ray Bradbury’s dystopia “Fahrenheit 451”. In my opinion, this work perfectly demonstrates what future awaits all of humanity if it loses the gift of books.

As a result, it becomes clear that books are invaluable to humans. They not only make life easier by sharing their experiences, but also fill it with emotion, making it emotionally rich. In addition, reading comprehensively develops any personality, making it interesting and, importantly, educated. It is necessary not to forget about books and use the knowledge that they contain.

Now reading is the most used way of transmitting information, and the book is its carrier. However, this has always been the case, at all times. Therefore, it is important and even necessary to get carried away with reading, because it is not without reason that they say: “If you have the information, you have the situation.” But what is the benefit of reading, and is there any at all?

Firstly, constant reading trains the brain. When you read, the way you perceive the world changes: you begin to fantasize, create certain “book” images (places, people, events). In addition, books improve memory, broaden horizons, and change spelling. Yes, yes, that’s right: when you read, your visual memory works, which will prevent you from making mistakes in texts in the future. Also, frequent reading teaches you to concentrate on a book, or anything else in general, and increases perseverance and mood.

Secondly, by reading books, your vocabulary increases, a special way of thinking appears, due to which thoughts are clearly expressed and easily formulated. You can see this for yourself: just read some classic work. After this, anyone (even those who previously “couldn’t put two words together”) will notice how much easier it has become to express their own thoughts using words. He will notice how it has become easier to express himself and choose words. He will notice that various parasitic words are leaving his vocabulary.

Thirdly, reading is simply an interesting activity. It is thanks to him that you can find new interlocutors, friends, like-minded people or topics for conversation with them. Book lovers are also very friendly, it’s always easy to communicate with them. You can enjoy your free time, while improving your mood and getting inspired. As a last resort, just enjoy a conversation with the author or his story, story. Reading does not get boring, does not become insipid: there are a lot of books, and each of them is unique in its own way.

And finally, fourth: each reading process is, in fact, a small journey, in time or distance. The book simply breaks through various time frames and restrictions. Only with its help can you feel and understand the thoughts of thousands of writers from different eras and times. Isn't this amazing? Just reading will make it clear how Defoe thought, what kind of outlook Wells had, and what puzzled Jansson. Just reading will allow us to feel, understand, feel the writer, even if he is already dead. It is for this reason that any book, even not very old, is a real “time machine”, the use of which can change your whole life.

In general, reading is an integral process at the stages of formation of an adult personality. A process that begins in infancy, when a child is read aloud by his parents and relatives. And ending with adulthood, during the experience of personal problems and spiritual growth, when literature saves from depression, sets morality and ideals. Books and reading have a huge influence on all of us and shape us. They make us human. This is all their benefit!

  • An essay-reasoning on the topic “What is friendship?” Friendship is a mutual, vibrant feeling, in no way inferior to love. It’s not only necessary to be friends, it’s simply necessary to be friends. After all, not a single person in the world can live his whole life alone; a person simply needs communication for both personal growth and spiritual growth. Essay on the benefits of reading books

Every person from childhood strives to achieve certain goals. As he gets older, his needs increase. To ensure that obstacles along the way do not become a hindrance in approaching the desired goal, knowledge is necessary. Even the very formation of a goal is individual for each person and is related to the amount of knowledge accumulated. It depends on the level of reading and education of each of us. From this moment the meaning of reading begins to unfold.

A book is a source from which you can get any information. Therefore, the reading process has several functions.

- first of all, a person who has access and desire to read books has the necessary information in order to set priorities in life correctly;

— being well-read gives advantages in any area: education, employment, etc., as it provides a path to increasing potential;

- reading takes a lot of time, at these moments a person’s mental activity is in motion. This helps in the development of memory, attentiveness, imaginative thinking, and being focused;

— the right text can help cope with despondency and lift your spirits;

- at any stage of life, reading promotes understanding and easier contact between people. This is the most important role of reading books, since relationships in society are built on the interaction of people, the ability to present oneself from the position of an erudite person;

- reading gives moral support to people; in them you can find the answer to any question of interest;

— spending time with a book gives pleasant moments, helping to plunge into the fictional world of heroes. There is no room for boredom in the lives of people who prefer to spend time reading;

- in addition, through a book we get to know ourselves, we can analyze our behavior and change unnecessary habits.

Currently, there are a considerable number of proverbs and sayings that are dedicated to the benefits of reading, for example, “Reading is the best teaching.” They are proof that a book changes a person for the better. Therefore, the best habit is considered to be periodic reference to a book, which makes us well-mannered and friendly.

Thus, no matter how many things appear in the modern world that give us access to information, painstaking work with a book cannot replace the method of knowledge. Reading presupposes an independent increase in intelligence and level of culture, which is required by modern society.
