- Responsiveness - what is it?
The definition of “responsiveness” is very simple to understand - all dictionaries say: willingness to help another person. This is the willingness to provide support and help to those who need it.
Each of us has personal qualities and characteristics, but, one way or another, responsiveness should be an integral part of everyone and cultivated in a person from early childhood by the family, and later by society. It is incredibly important to instill in your child a sense of compassion and a desire to provide support to those who really need it. To cultivate responsiveness in a child, from the first years of life it is necessary to form in a person the concepts of “good” and “bad”, a sense of justice and sensitivity towards people around. After all, this feeling should arise not only towards close people, but also towards complete strangers.
I believe that the quality of responsiveness can be associated with kindness and selflessness. But, unfortunately, in our world there are not many who are ready to come to the aid of a stranger and act out of selflessness: only a few will sacrifice their energy and time to help someone they absolutely do not know. But this is exactly what can be called true responsiveness! After all, the one who will not think about gain during a difficult moment for another person is truly kind. Someone who won't worry only about himself. Kind and sympathetic is the one who will do everything possible to provide it to a person in need of help, and it does not matter whether it is a person close to you or just a stranger.
Being responsive for me personally means helping a person without expecting anything in return. After all, then it will be difficult to call it selfless self-sacrifice, which is what responsiveness is. All good things always return like a boomerang according to the unspoken laws of human life - this is the best and highest payment for good done selflessly.
I believe that responsiveness is a necessary quality for those who want to succeed in the future. After all, the secret of success for people who have achieved great heights is kindness and willingness to help those who need it. After all, tomorrow those whom you helped today will help you, remembering your mercy and responsiveness towards them.
Essay on what Responsiveness is
We live in the modern world of computerization and enormous speeds. The fast pace of life determines its level. Nowadays you don’t need to meet people on the street or in a cafe to make friends. You don't have to leave the house to chat with friends. Technology brings us closer together. At the same time, people literally stopped noticing each other.
Few people would rush into a burning building to save those remaining there. But every second person will stop to watch and film the tragedy on their phone. Neither aggression, nor cruelty, nor fraud harm a person as much as indifference. After all, all of the above happens with the tacit consent of the indifferent.
We easily pass by if we see that someone is feeling bad or in pain. After all, someone else will definitely help him, and we are in a hurry. If a helpless person is being robbed on the street, we hurry away into an alley. After all, if you interfere, then we will get it too. We do not punish evil out of fear or indifference. Therefore, it grows, filling more and more new spaces.
People began to forget what responsiveness is. It still lives in good books, which teach us not to abandon a friend in trouble, and make us think about the meaning of life. There are many examples in literature of selfless, honest, kind characters who are capable of sacrificing themselves for the sake of others. And there are examples of heroes who think only about their own benefit, money and position in society.
Responsiveness keeps the soul alive. Indifference makes you inhuman, callous, and insensitive. Nothing pleases such a person anymore, no longer causes tenderness.
I believe that everyone can do good deeds. After all, helping someone is not so difficult. This does not require large financial and time expenditures. Older students can help younger students do their homework, explain incomprehensible topics, and protect them from bullies. Or walk a lost baby home. Help grandma carry something heavy or climb the stairs. And those who are younger can sometimes feed street cats and dogs.
I think compassion, first of all, begins with the attitude towards animals. It is impossible to be truly kind to people if you are indifferent to the pain and suffering of animals.
Responsiveness and mercy are similar concepts. And they are sorely lacking in modern society. We need to be kinder to each other.
Essay on Responsiveness with examples from literature
To answer the question “What is responsiveness,” I had to familiarize myself with the definitions of different dictionaries, and now I can answer that responsiveness is a quality that characterizes a person who is always ready to help those who need it, generous, magnanimous. Responsiveness is shown through words and deeds, without expecting praise or payment for it, that is, completely free of charge. This is the main feature of responsiveness.
It seems to me that responsiveness is a quality that requires education from an early age. This brings up the question: “How to raise a responsive person?” In childhood, a person can be taught to be responsive by a book that describes in simple words situations that require responsiveness.
What literary works contain examples of the actions of sympathetic people? They are in the story “The Wonderful Doctor” by Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin. Reading the story, you can find that the Mertsalov family vegetates in poverty. The parents tried to provide for their children, but the sudden illness of their daughter drove the parents to despair. And at the same time, the father meets the same “Wonderful Doctor”. Doctor Pirogov showed responsiveness, providing assistance to the girl free of charge and leaving money to continue treatment. Another doctor in his place would have asked for payment for his services, putting the parents in an even more difficult situation.
But other works can be used as an example. After reading the novel “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” by the Irish writer John Boyne, I was able to consider how responsiveness arose in the boy. The author demonstrated the horrors of the German concentration camps in which Jews were kept. The plot revolves around a couple of boys: Bruno and Shmuel, where the first is an ordinary German boy, and the other is the child of Jewish parents who ended up in a concentration camp. Bruno, understanding the complexity of the situation, helped Shmuel, giving him clothes and toys. This selfless human act is truly worthy of respect.
I believe that responsiveness is a necessary quality for those people who want to be a respected person. Responsiveness is an important factor in setting people on the path of moral development.

Essay on the topic of responsiveness
Direction “Indifference and Responsiveness”. Responsiveness is a capacious concept that encompasses human kindness, mercy, good-heartedness, love for people, compassion, understanding and sacrifice. But how does this word translate into actions? So what does it really mean to be responsive? Responsiveness is a kind of indicator of a person who is immune to the harsh realities of our time, or a person who is just starting to live. After all, it’s no secret that at first each of us lives with an open soul. Which person, as a child, was not responsive and ready to give everything he has if someone needed it? But, unfortunately, time changes our attitude towards those resources that we have to sacrifice for others, and those who, even after time, do not lose their responsiveness remain blessed. I understand this quality as the highest degree of philanthropy. What does it mean to be responsive? This means listening to the troubles of others and helping them cope with their problems. Make sacrifices for the sake of others, leaving behind your own unsolved problems. Doing good without expecting anything in return is compassion. A good example of a person with this quality is the heroine of the novel by F.M. Dostoevsky “Crime and Punishment”, Sonechka Marmeladova. This girl has become an eternal symbol of responsiveness in Russian literature. When Sonya’s family was going through a very difficult period, and money had already become a matter of life and death, the girl took the yellow ticket, because it was the only way at that time to save her family from death. When Raskolnikov needed support and human warmth, when he needed help, he needed the advice of a person who could turn a blind eye to the crime he had committed - Sonya became the hero’s only salvation. This girl was able to restore Rodion’s peace of mind and give him the right direction of thought. When Raskolnikov confessed to the crime he had committed, Sonya of her own free will came to him at hard labor, supporting him and the other prisoners. The heroine of the story by A.I. could not lose her responsiveness towards the end of her life. Solzhenitsyn "Matrenin's Dvor". From the very first lines we understand that Matryona has always strived to help people in everything, sincerely and from the bottom of her heart, without demanding anything in return. Thus, she periodically helped the collective farm at the request of the chairman’s wife, dug up potatoes in a neighbor’s garden - while the woman herself for many years could not obtain legal payment for the loss of a breadwinner, since her husband went missing. The scene describing the process of dividing Matryona's house becomes the most striking example of a woman's responsiveness. When her relatives, like animals, pursuing only their own interests, divide the heroine’s house into pieces, she takes a direct part in this, not refusing help even here. Matryona's responsiveness knows no bounds; unfortunately, her selfless kindness was not appreciated by any hero in the story, but for us, readers, she remained an example of a kind-hearted and sacrificial person. It seems to me that responsiveness is a wonderful quality, but not everyone deserves to have a responsive person next to them. When you are ready to selflessly help people, and meanwhile they brazenly take advantage of your help and take it for granted, sooner or later a wound begins to grow in your soul, which leads to callousness. Responsiveness is selfless, but in any case it should be rewarded with at least gratitude, bestowal, and a happy sparkle in the eyes.
Examples of final essays in the direction of Indifference and Responsiveness
Final essay on the topic: “What does it mean to be responsive?”
What does it mean to be responsive? It seems that all people will answer this question in approximately the same way: to be responsive means to easily respond to other people’s needs, to help others. Such a person will not look indifferently at the sorrows of others, will not turn away with the look of “this does not concern me,” but will try to do everything to alleviate the situation of those who are in trouble.
In fiction you can find many examples that clearly show what it means to be responsive. Let us remember the novel by V. Hugo “Les Miserables”. It tells about Bishop Bienvenu, who tirelessly did good. One late evening Jean Valjean came to his house. Tired and hungry, he looked for help, but no longer expected to receive it, because all the people, as soon as they learned that he had just been released from hard labor, immediately kicked him out. However, the bishop was a truly responsive person: he let Jean Valjean into his house, sat him down at the table, and ordered his bed to be prepared. For him, the past of this complete stranger did not matter; he only saw that he needed help and was ready to provide it. It must be said that Jean Valjean repaid him with evil for good: he robbed the priest who had benefited him. When the convict was caught and brought back to the house of Monsignor Bienvenu, he did not demand punishment for him. On the contrary, moved by sympathy for the unfortunate man, he told the police that he himself had given Jean Valjean the silverware. Why did he do this? The answer is simple: because to be responsive means not to wish harm to anyone, in any situation to be ready to understand another, to help, no matter what.
We find another example of responsiveness in O. Henry’s short story “The Last Leaf.” It tells the story of a young artist named Johnsy, who became seriously ill. Her chances of survival were one in ten. Jonesy herself understood this and was already awaiting death. She looked out the window at the opposite wall of the house, covered with ivy. It was autumn, and the leaves were falling one by one. Johnsy was sure that as soon as the last leaf fell, her life would end too. Her roommate told the old artist Berman about it. It would seem, how could he help in this situation? But Berman, being a sympathetic person, could not watch the young girl die indifferently. On a cold, stormy night, when the last leaf had fallen from the ivy, he left the house. In the pouring rain, pierced through by the wind, he drew a leaf on the wall that would never fall from the branch, no matter what happened. Looking at him, Johnsy gained hope and defeated the disease. And Berman? Unfortunately, the shivering old man fell ill and died two days later. We see that his good deed cost him his life. Did he understand what he was risking? I think so. But to be truly responsive means not to think about yourself, about your own well-being, if someone nearby is in trouble.
Summing up what has been said, I would like to express the hope that responsiveness will always be an integral part of our lives and will overcome the darkness of indifference and callousness.

Final essay on the topic: “Is it difficult to be responsive?”
Is it difficult to be responsive? It seems that there is no clear answer to this question. On the one hand, being responsive means giving your time and energy, material resources, and sometimes sacrificing your own well-being. But this is not so simple, and not every person is ready for this. On the other hand, truly responsive people do not think about themselves; for them, the desire to help another is as natural as breathing, and does not require moral effort or struggle with oneself. Responsiveness can be compared to the ability to fly: for a bird it is easy and simple, because it was born to fly; for others it is difficult or even impossible. Therefore, we can probably say that everything depends on the character of the person. If he is an altruist by nature, then it is not difficult for him to show responsiveness, but if a person is selfish and his own well-being is more important to him, then he will not help, unless he sympathizes in words.
Let's look at literary examples. In Valentin Rasputin's story "French Lessons" we see teacher Lidia Mikhailovna, who learned that her student was starving and was gambling for money to buy milk for himself. At first she tried to help him, so to speak, in legal ways: she left him for dinner, sent him a parcel with pasta and hematogen. But the boy did not accept her help. It would seem, what else could she do for him? The writer shows that Lidia Mikhailovna was even ready to neglect the ethical standards of behavior of a teacher for the sake of helping the child and she herself began to play with him for money, naturally, giving him the opportunity to win. Did she understand that she was risking her career and could be fired for this action? Undoubtedly, she could not realize what consequences awaited her. Was this decision difficult for her? I think not. It can be assumed that the desire to help a student in need was natural and even the only possible for a sympathetic woman.
Let us now recall the story of Alexander Pavlovich Chekhov “Tears of a Crocodile”. We see how Polycarp Semyonovich Judin thinks about the plight of poor people, about how easy it would be to help people’s grief, to do a good deed. However, at the same time, when a poor woman brings him a suit and asks seven rubles for it, because her children are sick and she really needs money for medicine, Judin is not going to sacrifice his own benefit and orders him not to give her more than five. Profit is more important for Judah, and he is not ready to sacrifice even the smallest amount to help someone. All he can do is think: “Where, in fact, are people, where are their hearts? The poor are dying, but the rich don’t even care...” For him, showing responsiveness in deeds and not in words is not only difficult, but even impossible.
Thus, we can come to the conclusion: if a person has such a quality as responsiveness, then it is not difficult for him to show it, even if he has to sacrifice something for the sake of others; if a person cares most about himself and his well-being, then it is completely impossible for him to show responsiveness; he may sympathize in his soul, but he will not take an active part in the fate of the person in need.

Meaning of Responsiveness
I believe that this concept means a lot, so everyone interprets it differently, but there are a few main points. A responsive person is one who hears you, sees your joys and sorrows . Such a person understands the feelings of others and can determine what is hidden behind the various actions of others. But the main thing is that he is ready to help, be there and give advice in difficult times, show kindness, sensitivity and understanding. You can call a responsive person who does not close his eyes to other people’s problems, does not ignore injustice and stands up for good.
