(166 words) NOT so long ago I read a wonderful book by the Russian writer A.N. Tolstoy "The Golden Key or the Adventures of Pinocchio." She made a huge impression on me. This work tells the story of the adventures of a boy named Pinocchio, who was cut from an ordinary log by Papa Carlo.

At the very beginning of the fairy tale, the wooden boy behaves like a capricious and disobedient child. HE doesn't want to go to school and even sells the alphabet that his father bought for him. Because of this, he was deceived by the fox Alice and the cat Basilio, street beggars, swindlers and thieves.

But true friends were found - the girl Malvina, Pierrot and the dog Artemon, who helped Pinocchio find his place in life. The fairy tale, like all fairy tales, ended well. Pinocchio, with the help of the old turtle Tortilla, found the golden key that brings happiness, opened a new puppet theater in which his friends began to play. At the end of the fairy tale, the boy became responsible, he changed a lot for the better, stopped playing pranks and even went to school to gain knowledge,

The main character Karabas-Barabas lost all his artists. This is a very good book, all the characters got what they deserved and learned useful lessons.

(199 words) Recently I read a fairy tale by the great Danish storyteller G.H. Andersen's "Thumbelina" The main character of the fairy tale is a tiny girl who went through serious trials to find her happiness.

First, she was kidnapped by a fat toad, who dreams of making the girl the wife of his ugly and lazy son. Then she was carried away by the cockchafer. He liked her, but when other beetles began to criticize her, he left Thumbelina in the forest.

For the whole summer, the poor little thing lived alone under a leaf, drinking dew and eating nectar from flowers. BUT when winter came, the girl almost died. The old field mouse took pity on her and let her live in her hole. In winter, Thumbelina found a frozen swallow in an underground labyrinth and began to care for it. It was only thanks to the girl that the bird recovered and flew away with the beginning of spring.

And the mouse decided to marry Thumbelina to a rich blind mole. A terrible life awaited her in complete darkness. The girl was very sad; she did not want to say goodbye to the sun. And then a kind swallow saved her, she took the baby to distant countries where beautiful flowers bloom. There Thumbelina was met by elves - tiny creatures with wings on their backs. The elf prince fell in love with Thumbelina and made her his wife.

When I read this fairy tale, I realized that the most important thing in life is to believe in goodness and miracles and never lose heart.

(173 words) I really liked Alexander Volkov’s books “The Wizard of the Emerald City”, “Oorfene Deuce and His Wooden Soldiers” and others. After reading them, I realized that the most important thing in life is friendship. It was friends who helped Ellie and Toto return to their homeland from a magical land.

Ellie's house is blown away by a hurricane unleashed by an evil sorceress. So the girl with her faithful dog ends up in the land of the miguns. She needs to return home, but only a wizard can help. ON the way to the capital, Ellie meets the Scarecrow, who wants to get brains and become wise, the Tin Woodman, who dreams of a loving heart, and the cowardly Lion, who wants to become brave. On the way to the Emerald City, our friends encounter various dangers, but they still reach their goal.

The wizard says that he will definitely make their dreams come true, but first Ellie must deal with the evil sorceress Bastinda, and her friends must help her with this. Only mutual assistance helped our heroes cope with this assignment.

The fairy tale ends very well: Ellie returns home, and her friends remain in a magical land and rule its people. The author believes that no magic is needed if there is true friendship and faith in oneself.

(187 words) When I was little, my mother read Sergei Aksakov’s fairy tale “The Scarlet Flower” to me. Now I re-read it on my own and realized that you can’t judge a person by their appearance. The main thing is what this person is like inside, what his character is, how he treats other people.

The merchant had three daughters, and his youngest beloved Nastenka asked him to bring her an unusual gift from distant countries - a scarlet flower. Returning home, the merchant ended up on an island where this magical flower grew. BUT when he tore it off, there was thunder, a roar and a monster appeared, which demanded that the merchant return to the island for his act.

Having learned about this, Nastenka, who loved her father most of all, went to the island in his place.

At first she was afraid of the monster, but then his kind heart conquered the girl, and she sincerely fell in love with the monster, who turned out to be an enchanted prince. To the envy of her older sisters, Nastenka got married, and her wedding was talked about all over the country.

I really liked that the older envious sisters were punished, they wanted to harm Nastenka, but they didn’t succeed. This is how it should be in life, good always defeats evil, justice triumphs, and evil and envious people understand that nothing worked out for them.

(163 words) All the guys read books and watched films about Harry Potter. I also recently read several books from this series, written by the English writer JK Rowling. My favorite book was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This book, of course, has a lot of magic and magic, but there is also a detective story, which really attracts me.

Harry and his friends were looking for the secret room and who was secretly attacking the students. There is an old legend going around the school that says that once upon a time there was a boy at Hogarth who believed that only purebred magicians should study at this school. This legend, oddly enough, turned out to be true. And Harry, with the help of Hermione and Ron, and also using the tips of Albus Dumbledore, finds and destroys the basilisk, a terrible snake that can kill with one look.

The plot of the book constantly keeps the reader in suspense. Harry and his friends are looking for a room, and I, reading about their adventures, tried to independently solve all the riddles that faced my favorite heroes. The climax of the plot is the battle with the basilisk, after which everything becomes clear.

(272 words) A real discovery for me was the book by science fiction writer Alexander Belyaev “The Head of Professor Dowell.” Reading this book, you involuntarily forget that the author wrote a fantastic work, you believe in everything that happens on the pages of the story and are amazed at the capabilities of human genius.

Following this book, I read other works by Belyaev, but “The Head of Professor Dowell” still remained my favorite story. Amazing scientific discoveries, betrayal and loyalty to an idea, a clearly verified detective story - all this made my head spin and did not allow me to tear myself away from the book even late at night.

Professor Dowell, the main character of the book, is a world leader in medicine, constantly struggling with the problem of organ transplantation. And he achieved certain results. But when he had an accident, his student Kern, announcing to everyone that the great scientist had died, separated his head and placed it over a vessel with a solution that not only kept life in the head, but even allowed the brain to function.

Now the professor’s head was completely subordinated to the power of the Evil Genius, and if it were not for the constant presence of a nurse who looked after the professor’s head, talked and supported hope, the fate of the unfortunate scientist would have been extremely sad.

Kern wanted to achieve more: he conducted experiments on people, dreamed of learning how to transplant heads onto other people's bodies. HE wanted worldwide fame and enormous wealth, at any cost.

BUT the professor did not want to give such a weapon into the hands of a bad person; he deceived his former student, dictated to him the wrong formula for the nutrient solution and, as a result, he himself died. The whole world shuddered when people learned about Kern's experiments and the terrible death of Professor Dowell.

This book gives you a lot to think about. And although on the one hand this is an exciting read, on the other hand it teaches devotion to one’s idea, firmness of conviction, true friendship and, of course, rightly asserts that truth will conquer all.

(230 words) I have always believed that our peers should read as much as possible about the war. We must never forget the suffering the war brought to our people. I recently read Boris Vasiliev’s book “Not on the Lists,” and it shocked me with its veracity.

Young lieutenant Nikolai Pluzhnikov had just graduated from military school and arrived at his duty station in the city of Brest. It was June 21, 1941. A few hours later, the most terrible war in human history began. Nikolai had not even had time to check in at his place of duty when he already had to defend the fortress with weapons in his hands.

The defenders of the fortress defended themselves fiercely, but the forces were unequal, and the Red Army soldiers died one after another. One day Nikolai met a Jewish girl, Mirra, in an underground casemate; during these terrible days, the young people became close and fell in love with each other. But their happiness did not last long, when Mirra tried to leave the dungeon, she was killed by the Nazis.

Soon Nikolai was left alone, but he still considered it his duty to leave the dungeon every day and kill at least one fascist soldier. HE lasted nine months, and the Nazis could do nothing with him.

Boris Vasiliev, with all his works, tries to inspire his readers that the most important thing for any person is memory. We need to remember those who defended their Motherland without sparing their lives. None of our sacrifices can compare with what our grandfathers and great-grandfathers endured, we just need to try to be worthy of our ancestors.

Essay Examples

Until recently, books were considered of great value, and the gift of reading was great and prestigious. Nowadays less attention is paid to literature. But sooner or later a person will fall in love with reading. The only question is at what age this will happen. After reading a work, sometimes you unconsciously learn interesting facts, stories, and ideas of other people.

The magical world of literature

In the book you can find yourself or the necessary answers to questions, get new emotions and simply live in the world of heroes while you read the work. Of all the exciting things you want to do in your free time, reading is the best .

I fell in love with the world of literature as soon as I learned to read. She started with fairy tales by S. Ya. Marshak, K. I. Chukovsky, N. N. Nosov, A. S. Pushkin. Then I began to study educational books and encyclopedias, for example, the “I Explore the World” series or the “Big School Encyclopedia.” Then I read the fiction of the school curriculum and discovered the world of fantasy, falling in love with “Harry Potter”, “Buffy”, “Charmed”, “Sorcerers”. Now I'm into adventure stories.

Classic works make you think about various questions and awaken your imagination. We can live the lives of our favorite heroes. This is probably why I enjoy reading so much.

Reading the story, you get used to the role of the character, experiencing the emotions he experienced.

I believe that books provide their readers with the opportunity to gain enormous, invaluable experience. Reading helps to cope with obstacles and problems. After reading a great book in a bad mood, you immediately change. You switch to the work and notice that all your worries are behind you.

Reading is especially important to broaden your horizons . Mental activity improves, vocabulary is replenished, creative imagination develops. Topics for discussion among peers immediately appear. This is a kind of self-education, because any information from books makes me an interesting conversationalist and increases my level of education.

If you read a book that you read several years ago, you can discover a lot of new things. Each re-read story reveals itself in a new way. Evaluating the information a second time, you understand that this is happening due to increased literacy and maturation.

Many of my classmates argue that there is no need to read a thick book, because you can watch a movie. It saves a lot of time and is a modern alternative to reading. But I don't agree with them. There is nothing more fun than reading.

There are so many different genres in literature: fairy tales, science fiction, novels, lyrics! Yes, modern films are full of bright special effects. But I don’t think films can ever replace literature. It happens that you watch a film adaptation of your favorite book and are disappointed, because I imagined the plot differently. Very often, movies lose important details that make a book special, meaningful, and interesting.

When I read, I imagine myself in the place of the characters, analyze their actions, find answers to questions, and get to know the world. When watching a film, we simply swallow the content, which does not allow us to think or analyze.

When I realize that I don't have enough time to read all the interesting books, I feel a little sad. But you should still strive to read as much as possible. I am eternally grateful to the authors who allow their readers to penetrate into the unique world of works that make us think about our lives, souls, loved ones and loved ones, as well as what awaits us in the future life. I really love to read. An essay on the chosen topic once again proves that the book is our friend and advisor.

(270 words) The novel by the American writer Orwell “1984” tells about the past, present and future almost simultaneously. Each reader will understand it differently. The only thing their opinions agree on is that the novel talks about people’s lives under complete totalitarianism.

At the center of the novel is the life and fate of one man - Winston Smith. The author describes in great detail the work of the ministries that support the life of the state in a once and for all certain order: the ministry of truth, friendship, love and peace.

These bodies vigilantly monitor not only each person individually and the functioning of all governing bodies, but even correct history if something in the past interferes with the ideally measured order.

It would seem that in such an ideally organized world there is no place for freethinkers, but, oddly enough, people appear who are dissatisfied with the existing order, they dream of changing the management system, becoming free and independent.

Winston should also be included among such people; he finds true love, which is also impossible in this state, and together with his beloved he enters into the opposition.

But soon their party ends up in the hands of those in power, and Winston and his girlfriend also end up in prison. This is the climax of the novel. These pages are simply creepy to read: young people are threatened not only with long-term imprisonment and even the death penalty. No, under pain of painful torture they are trying to force them to renounce their beliefs, faith in the future, and hope for freedom. It would seem impossible to do this, but it turns out that nothing is impossible in that world.

Orwell's art lies in the fact that he not only shows the horror of a totalitarian state that regulates the private life of citizens, but also keeps their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in check. The author clearly shows that people deprived of independent thinking, will and convictions do not have the right to be called people, they are simply thinking beings...

Essay My favorite book is Robinson Crusoe, grade 6

The great story of how the human mind overcomes incredible odds is forever ingrained in my heart. Robinson Crusoe is an example of what a real person should be. No, it does not mean that he should go towards his goal, achieve everything. It's obvious. No, the book tells an incredible story of the unity of man with nature, and with a clear example it shows that people are not at all the rulers of the world, but only a part of it.

Robinson Crusoe was partly based on a true story. The story begins with the protagonist's ship being caught in a storm. Because of this, the entire staff died, only the guy survived. And now he will have to survive on a desert island. A wonderful exposition of how man must reconnect with nature in order to gain a chance at life from it. After all, the book says that you cannot renounce your mother, you need to keep and love her.

My favorite hero is Friday. Robinson's only friend. He appears as an inexperienced and frightened man. Thanks to him, it is easy to understand the futility and fragility of life.

Robinson Crusoe is a great philosophical book in which everyone can find answers to many questions.
