Having landed on the shore, the cook disappears and agrees with his old friend Geriss to tell the sailors that they are in Bolivia. Both acquaintances were involved in the slave trade, and Negoro was sentenced to hard labor, but escaped and became a cook on a schooner. Harris takes everyone deep into the forest, but the passengers guess that they are in Africa. Dick Sand realizes that they have been betrayed. Negoro and Harris want to catch the ship's passengers.
Those remaining from the ship decided to cross the river, but the river overflowed and overflowed its banks, and everyone had to hide in a termite mound. Send and the nanny are captured by the leader of the slaves. The schooner owner's wife and son were taken away in an unknown direction. The nanny is dying. Dick kills Harris, who reported the death of Mrs. Weldon and Jack, although this is not true. Kok asks the owner of the slaves (Alvets) and Muani-Lung, an influential man in those places, to kill Dick for the death of his friend. Alvets later burns Muani-Lunga.
When Muani-Lung was buried, the captain was hanged on a boiling cauldron in which his wives were located. Mrs. Weldon, Jack and relative Benedict are captured by Neguero, who wants to sell them to the owner of the ship. The hostages are in the care of the slave owner while Negoro travels to San Francisco. The love for insects gave freedom to Benedict, then he meets Hercules.
To stop the rain, Muan's last wife invites a sorcerer, pretending to be Hercules. The sorcerer makes it clear that the prisoners are to blame for everything and, thus, saves everyone except his friends, who have already been sold. The survivors sail on a mothballed boat and find themselves near the island of cannibals. They see “S.” on the tree. IN." and nearby human bones. A man appears nearby, Dingo bites the man to death, and in response Dingo was stabbed to death, it was Negoro who killed the dog's owner.
The survivors continue their journey through the island of cannibals, reach the ocean and find themselves home. Dick Sand becomes captain of the schooner. He and Hercules became part of Mr. Weldon's family.
