Kustodiev’s painting “Lilac” depicts a small spring landscape dated 1906. It was warm, sunny weather outside, and the artist, inspired by the joyful picturesque environment, painted this wonderful picture.

Kustodiev’s wife took a direct part in the creation of the canvas along with their little daughter, becoming the heroine of this work of art.

A woman with a child in her arms stands next to the house in the middle of a blooming front garden against the backdrop of young trees and recently blossoming bushes of lush lilac.

The girl is also dressed in an elegant white dress, bordered at the bottom with blue wavy lines. This scene appeared to the artist’s eyes almost every day, and he soon found it an excellent plot basis for writing his future painting. In addition, the young petals of blooming lilacs in the rays of the soft spring sun perfectly fulfilled the role of a picturesque background.

Thanks to his talent and sense of beauty, the artist managed to depict the bright colors of the spring landscape in their contrasting combination with each other. But the most important thing that the author of this wonderful picture was able to show is that rare, and therefore so valuable and fascinating, feeling of spiritual harmony, emotional balance and joy of life.

The painting “Lilac” is filled with the warmth of maternal feeling, every detail, every stroke is saturated with light and love.

The author's artistic style allows even the most unassuming viewer to catch all the colors and shades of family happiness and the beauty of the spring landscape.

The paint lies incredibly lightly and naturally on the canvas, thanks to which the viewer is clearly conveyed the dynamic, reverent and literally weightless state of blooming nature.

Essay on Konchalovsky’s painting “Lilacs in a Basket”, 5th grade

Option #1

In the painting of the famous artist P. Konchalovsky “Lilacs in a Basket” we see a luxurious bouquet of fragrant lilacs. The abundance of flowers on its branches resemble lush bunches of ripe grapes. Lilacs stand on the table in a wicker basket. The upper part of the basket is hidden under leaves and delicate lilac flowers hanging almost to the table.

The author depicted an armful of lilacs freshly cut from the bushes. The bouquet is still damp from morning dew or rain. Drops of moisture are visible on the leaves. It seems that a sweet fragrant aroma emanates from the bouquet.

This lush fragrant bouquet consists of different varieties of lilac. In the center there are tall lilac branches. Beneath them are soft pink, white and purple clusters of lilacs. On the left, above the green leaves, there are blue, lilac and white branches. Large fluffy clusters of lilac, lilac and soft pink lilac hang down to the right.

The artist does not paint the petals and flowers of lilac very carefully. The holistic image of the bouquet and the abundance of flowers in it are important to him. But if you look closely, you can distinguish small star petals and unopened lilac buds.

When I first saw this painting, I immediately noticed how the artist admires the generous and rich nature and treats it with love. The chic bouquet amazes with its splendor. When you look at this delightful bouquet of lilacs, you feel warm and cozy and your mood lifts.

A wonderful bouquet of lilacs reminds you of warm sunny days, the first spring flowers, and the beauty of nature.

Option No. 2

The famous Russian artist P.P. Konchalovsky was a gardener and loved to depict flowers on his canvases. None of the Russian artists created as many still lifes depicting flowers as he did.

Most of all, P.P. Konchalovsky loved lilacs. He dedicated many of his works to her. The most famous of them is called “Lilacs in a Basket”. Lilacs are depicted in a basket on the table. It stands colorful, resembling a multi-colored carpet. The lilac brushes are lush and juicy, as if wet. The brush consists of small, delicate flowers. Lilac leaves are dark green. Lilacs of different colors: white, purple, bluish. A tall dark red branch looks solemn in the middle of the bouquet. And how elegant the soft pink lilac is! What shades does it have: pearl, purple. The basket containing the fragrant lilac is woven from twigs. They seem to tenderly hug the lilac branches.

I really liked P.P. Konchalovsky’s still life “Lilacs in a Basket.” When I saw this picture, I remembered spring, the bright sun, and my soul immediately felt joyful. You can’t help but want to touch these luxurious, fresh, as if just cut, bunches of lilacs with your hands. “Everything in this bouquet blooms, lives and rejoices,” wrote P.P. Konchalovsky himself. Yes, such a wonderful picture could only be created by an artist in love with his native nature.

Write an essay based on Kustodiev’s painting “Lilac”

What a beautiful shrub - lilac! Looking at it on a sunny spring day you can see hundreds, if not thousands of shades of purple! And how beautifully these little flowers harmonize with the green foliage! As a child, you used to go up to a lilac bush and spend an hour looking for a five-leaf clover, so that you could later eat it and make your deepest wish! Quite recently, such a desire awoke in me when I looked at Kustodiev’s painting “Lilac” for the first time.

In the foreground, the first thing to rush is a woman holding a small child in her arms. Many sources say that this is not just an ordinary woman, but the artist’s wife, and she is holding his daughter. Both female representatives are dressed in white robes.

The woman is wearing a floor-length dress that covers her throat. However, if you look closely, you will notice that the robe is unusual: it is made with numerous folds. The sleeves, which are made of slightly transparent white fabric, also look beautiful.

The lady's hair is tied up in a bun, which is secured with some kind of black hairpin with a bow. The face is gentle and caring, and if you look closely, her skin color is different from the skin of a child.

In a woman, it is yellow, wrinkles are visible on the face, but in a child, on the contrary, the face is soft and smooth, and the color is not yellow, but soft pink.

The girl herself is also wearing a dress that is clearly not the right length for her. But the decorations on the dress are very beautiful: blue waves. Personally, it reminds me of a marine theme, and it would be much better if the woman was with her child against the backdrop of some embankment, where the sea is visible from behind. Although, here they also look pretty good.

The first thing you can see in the background is a fence. I would like to note that he is quite ordinary, although, from the clothes of Kustodiev’s wife, one can understand that they live well. Behind the fence is our heroine of the picture - lilac.

You can see how many shades the artist used in the crown of the bush! There are dark green, light green, light green, and many other colors.

Despite the fact that the lilac flowers are poorly drawn, there are also plenty of shades: blue, indigo, white, purple, pink.

In the corner of the picture you can see a yellow painted log house. The window is visible, as well as the drain pipe. The window looks quite nice. I would also like to point out the frames: they are not the most ordinary, and are also made with waves.

The picture is very beautiful, light and bright. You can feel family warmth and love in her, she is virginally tender and full of bright and positive emotions. Source: Essay based on Kustodiev’s painting Lilac 7th grade

Essay on the painting Lilac in the Window by Konchalovsky

Option 1. Essay on the painting Lilac in the Window by Konchalovsky (briefly)

In the painting Lilac in the Window by Pyotr Petrovich Konchalovsky, painted in 1955, I see a colorful bouquet of lilacs. It stands on a white windowsill in a golden vase. Through the open window the sun's rays fall on him and a fresh breeze blows.

The bouquet contains multi-colored branches of fragrant lilac. There are white, lilac and dark purple clusters here. One branch seemed to accidentally fall out of the bouquet and remained lying on the windowsill. Bright flowers are depicted against the background of emerald-colored grass that grows outside the window. This gives the bouquet a special colorfulness.

I really liked the picture. The artist turned it out bright and realistic. A bouquet of lilacs looks like a real one.

Option 2. Essay based on the painting Lilac in the Window by Konchalovsky (description)

Pyotr Petrovich Konchalovsky loved to depict flowers in his still lifes. And he was especially good at lilacs. We can see these spring flowers in several of the artist’s canvases. He depicted them in various baskets and vases. Using different backgrounds for the bouquets and different lighting, he ensured that the paintings were not similar to each other.

In the painting Lilac in the window we see a bouquet illuminated by the bright sun, standing on a white wooden windowsill. It contains freshly cut fragrant branches of white, light purple and purple lilacs. Mixed with green leaves they look very beautiful and picturesque. Lush brushes consisting of small flowers are painted by the author so authentically that it seems that you can catch the smell of these spring flowers, familiar from childhood.

The sun's rays, falling through the wide-open window onto the multi-colored bunches, give them additional shades. White lilacs no longer look pure white. She shimmers in the sun like pearls. In lilac and violet flowers, blue and dark red shades appear in the shade, and in the light, light sun highlights are added to the pinkish shades.

Next to the vase on the windowsill lies another branch of lilac. It was placed quite recently; it did not have time to wither in the hot sun.

In the background, outside the window, we can see a garden surrounded by greenery of trees, bushes and lush grass. Bright spring greenery serves as an excellent backdrop for a still life. A sand-colored path leads to the house. Through the open window, fresh air enters the room, filling it with the aromas of spring.

Konchalovsky's painting is colorful and very realistic. Lilac painted in bright, rich colors evokes admiration and delight in the viewer. It reminds us of warm May days, the time when these amazing fragrant flowers bloom.

Essay based on the painting “Lilacs in a Basket” by Konchalovsky

Option 1

Konchalovsky depicts lilacs in a basket in the foreground; the flowers fill almost the entire canvas and instantly captivate the viewer. How realistically every inflorescence, every petal of this incredible flower created by nature is conveyed.

The author painstakingly describes each leaf, creating a feeling of presence, as if it were not a painted bouquet, but a real one.

Looking at the details, at the way the author conveys the play of light and shadow, this painting technique has a flawless effect on the viewer, it seems that a light, warm, spring breeze is about to blow and the smell of lilac will spread throughout the room.

Paying attention to the combination of colors used by the author, we see the dominant lilac color. Shades of purple undoubtedly add mystery; this color attracts, as if it has hypnotic power.

Makes the viewer immerse themselves in the image and unravel its secret.

White, in turn, makes the bouquet light, gives spring freshness, and suggests that something new and clean awaits us ahead. Associations with the color white are always positive; the contrast of color gives depth to the picture and captivating beauty.

You involuntarily pay attention to the noble greenery of the bouquet. Green is the color of life, the color of nature, the artist tells us, using the example of spring lilac, that nature has awakened and shows us its strength.

The magical idleness of the colors does not allow you to take your eyes off the image.
