Description essay for 3rd grade

In front of me is one of the paintings by the artist Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, “Winter in the Forest.” The painting depicts a winter forest. In the foreground of the picture there are dark, rough tree trunks covered with snow. There is fluffy frost on their branches. The earth and dry grasses are covered with a white snow carpet, which makes it very light. One feels that the weather is calm and windless. To depict the forest on the right side of the canvas, the artist used darker colors to show that the forest is dense. On the left the forest is sparser, thin young trees grow there. In the middle of the picture, the forest seems to part. Behind it is a snow-covered meadow or field. In the distance and above the forest, a bright blue sky opens up to the eye. It is clear from the painting that the artist knows and loves the beauty of the Russian winter. Looking at the picture, I also feel a love for Russian nature and a desire to be in this fabulously beautiful forest.

***

In the painting “Winter in the Forest” by the famous landscape painter Shishkin, a winter forest appears before us. Thin trees with intricately curved branches stretch upward. Their rough trunks were covered in places with snow, and their branches were dusted with frost. Snow lies everywhere, covers the ground, bends dry grass to it. The rays of the sun illuminate the clearing. The weather is clear and frosty. A little to the right the forest is no longer so light. Its thick crown allows almost no light to pass through. In the center of the picture, between the trees, you can walk along a clearing to the edge of the forest. The color scheme of the landscape is not very diverse. To depict the trees, the artist chose shades of gray and brown, for the snow - white and grayish, and only the sky above the forest is striking in its blue. The landscape artist very accurately depicted the beauty of his native nature. I want to look at the picture again and again!

    - reasoning As they say, the one who does nothing makes no mistakes. Mistakes are inherent in every person, you should not be afraid of them. They teach us, and these lessons are taught to us by life.

What is frost

Frosty frost is precipitation, a thin layer of ice crystals. It is quite simple to explain this natural phenomenon: there is always water vapor in the air, and when the air gets colder, it loses its ability to retain moisture. As the temperature outside the window drops, crystals do not form in the air, but settle on asphalt, tree leaves, cars, roofs of houses and window glass. This is explained by the fact that surrounding objects retain heat less well than air.

The color of frost depends on the purity of the air. It is usually white, but it can also take on a pinkish or bluish tint. When the environment is polluted, the crystals can turn yellow, blue, or brown. Frost on grass often looks a little greenish.

Frost is much more likely to form at night rather than during the day. The resulting crystals appear differently depending on the temperature and are never granular, and their thickness rarely exceeds 2 millimeters. In Siberia, this phenomenon is called kurzhak.

Dew forms in the summer using exactly the same principle. It gets cold at night, and in the morning we see how the pores of water settle on the leaves of trees, flowers and other surrounding objects.

Difference from hard plaque

Sometimes, when people think that trees are covered with frost, in fact a hard coating forms on the plants. This atmospheric phenomenon also consists of ice crystals, but differs from the first in the conditions of formation. Hard ice deposits are a common occurrence when warm weather sets in after prolonged frosts. Its formation is facilitated by the wind blowing from the ocean.

Patterns on window glass

One of the most exquisite winter decorations created by nature itself are frosty patterns on window glass. But how is such beauty created? Frost on glass occurs in the same way as on other surfaces - water vapor from the air, bypassing the liquid state, crystallizes on the glass.

All patterns can be divided into 2 types: trichites and dendrites. The first ones appear on glass that has a lot of scratches, their fibers vary in length and take on curved shapes. Dendrites appear at zero temperature (with its subsequent decrease) and high humidity; the patterns are tree-like shapes.

Frosty paintings on glass turn out so unusual because of scratches and irregularities on the surface of the material. Ice crystals “sit” on top of each other in several layers, drawing winter patterns. The unusualness of the design is made by the dust accumulated on the glass, drafts, and wind. Negative temperatures affect the shape and size of ice fibers.

To get rid of snow patterns you need to follow a few simple conditions:

  • regularly ventilate the room;
  • before the onset of frost, it is necessary to wipe the windows with ammonia;
  • provide a high-quality heating system.
