Essay on the topic of books and reading in my life

A book in my life.

I have often heard from adults that the younger generation does not read books as often as parents or grandparents at our age. In most cases this is true. My peers and I often spend more and more time on the Internet. You can find anything you want in it. But if you think about this topic, questions immediately arise: “Where did all the information come from? Where did it all come from?

It would be difficult for an illiterate person who knows nothing to come up with and write all this. This is only possible if you read, learn, and teach a lot. And all this knowledge can be obtained from books. It is not in vain that there are such words: “A book is an eternal mentor and teacher.”

My first acquaintance with books happened in early childhood, when my mother read me bedtime stories. Then I still didn’t really know how to speak, but I really loved these evening stories. I liked it. These moments are etched in my memory forever. Yes, all children like it when interesting fairy tales are read to them.

Now that we have grown up, we have the right to choose for ourselves what to read. Now you don’t have to wait until the evening when your parents are free and read their favorite fairy tale. This means that at any time we have the opportunity to plunge into another world with the help of a book or go on a long journey. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s paper or its pages glow from a computer monitor. The main thing is that with the help of a book you can look into a completely different world. A good book is a faithful friend, thanks to which you gain new knowledge, learn and discover a lot of new things. At school we are assigned a lot of literature to read at home. We also use a lot of books, dictionaries and problem books during lessons. These are books with the help of which we gain knowledge and develop.

Today the book is available to anyone who wants to get acquainted with it. I love books that feature incredible adventures and fantastic time travel. I love reading such works and imagining myself as a pirate in search of treasure, or a captain discovering new horizons. With the help of a book, I can feel the mood and what the character I’m reading about is feeling and going through.

Any book is a new friend for me, with its own stories, character and outlook on life. She helps me study, learn a lot of new and interesting things. I consider a book to be an indispensable item in my life.

We often hear that we don't read as much as our parents and grandparents did at our age. That's probably true. My peers and I are spending more and more time on the Internet. There are a lot of interesting things in it. And it contains almost everything that was once written or said by someone. But if you think carefully: where did everything come from? How did it appear? An illiterate person who knows nothing could not have come up with all this, put it together. This is only possible if he himself read, taught, and learned a lot. And thorough knowledge can only be obtained from books. It’s not for nothing that they say: “A book is the wisest teacher.”

I can’t even remember when I became acquainted with the book. Surely back when my only words were “mom” and “dad”. I, like all the children, were read fairy tales: “Kolobok”, “Turnip”, “Rock Hen”, “Geese-Swans”. And I loved it! All children enjoy being read to.

Now each of us chooses what to read – we don’t have to wait until our parents are free. This means that at any moment you can dive into a completely different dimension. You just take it, open the book – and you’re already there! There is a good expression: “A book is not a plane, but it will take you far away.” And it doesn’t matter whether it is made the old fashioned way - from paper or its pages glow from a computer monitor. The main thing is that with it a small window opens in front of you into the big world. A good book is like a faithful friend who gives you knowledge. And they do it kindly and not intrusively.

For example, textbooks are old friends. The poetry of Pushkin or Nekrasov are romantic friends. The books of Anatoly Rybakov are heroic friends who firmly believe in justice. Fantastic stories by Kir Bulychev - fellow explorers for whom friendship is more valuable than all adventures...

Any book is a new friend with its own character and outlook on life. I think the more good friends the better. I'm interested in them.

Some believe that this is an unnecessary matter and only takes away free time that can be spent on computer games and something else. I think differently. There is a Russian proverb: “Learning is light, but ignorance is darkness.” This means that for those who learn a lot of new things and strive for this, a bright road to the future opens up ahead. And those who are lazy and do not study at school will remain all their lives in the darkness of stupidity and ignorance. People who strive for [...]

  • An essay-reasoning on the topic “What is friendship?” Friendship is a mutual, vibrant feeling, in no way inferior to love. It’s not only necessary to be friends, it’s simply necessary to be friends. After all, not a single person in the world can live his whole life alone; a person simply needs communication for both personal growth and spiritual growth.
