Essay on the topic “Feat”: does it have a place in our lives?

What is it?

An essay on the topic “Feat” should begin with the definition of this word. A feat is an act performed by a person who has exceeded his capabilities. This is a valiant act that would not be performed by an ordinary person or a person with weak willpower.

Feats were performed in various eras, starting from ancient times. The 12 labors of Hercules, the courage of soldiers during the Great Patriotic War - all these are examples that are revealed in the essay on the topic “Feat”. Women performed slightly fewer heroic deeds than men.

There are many examples of feats not only from real life, but also from legends, stories or fairy tales. Human feats are always praised, and people who have committed a valiant act are extolled.

Why are feats important?

Why is such actions so admired at all times?

We all live in a world where both good and evil exist. And the guises of these concepts can be very diverse. In any century or era, it was considered valor to fight evil. After all, this is something that can not only ruin a person’s life, but also make it unbearable.

That is why any struggle against everything negative can be considered a feat. Feats are praised because not every person is ready to risk themselves in order to do something for the benefit of others.

About exploits today

What about valiant deeds today? Do they exist, or should feats be left only in fairy tales? An essay on the topic “Feat” will help answer these questions.

Our days can hardly be called a time of valiant deeds and exploits. Today, every person is forced to fight for his life and solve his problems. But this does not mean that in the 21st century there are no people ready to perform feats.

Let's think for a moment how many feats are performed in the world every day. People whose professions involve people do more than one admirable thing every day. Rescuers, doctors, firefighters and other people who often risk their lives to save others - this is a real example of heroism today.

Despite the fact that the 21st century is considered the century of cynicism and selfishness, this conclusion can be safely refuted. Feats in any era were infrequent deeds, and this is absolutely normal.

Even today, we can give many examples in which the most ordinary people show valor and courage. They rescue children and animals from burning houses or deep rivers, protect women and the elderly from attacks by bandits, and save people during accidents. All these are feats, especially at times when there is a risk to one’s own life.

Feat

Janusz Korczak

A feat is an outstanding, heroic act, a victory of fearlessness, courage, will over fear and weakness. However, the dream of accomplishing a feat, of sacrificing one’s life, is the dream of a romantic, a frivolous person. “There is always a place for heroic deeds in life, the main thing is to stay away from this place.” There is no task to die heroically, there is a task to live with dignity. It’s easier to notice a bright, thunderous feat, but along with these, there are also quiet feats that are accomplished day after day, day after day, and go unnoticed. To accomplish feats, you don’t have to throw yourself into the breach; it’s enough to courageously and calmly do the best you can for people day after day. Live every day so that life becomes more beautiful and stronger.

Janusz Korczak raised 200 orphans during the difficult war years. He didn’t just provide them with life - he gave them a strong, bright life - he made them people. And he did not leave them alone on the terrible path to Treblinka. His feat did not ring loudly, it was a feat of every day, which proved that “there is still more good in the world than evil.” He and his children went out to face death under the green banner of King Matt. In his diary he wrote: “Warsaw is mine, and I am hers. I will say more: I am her. One boy told me, leaving the Orphanage: “If it weren’t for this house, I wouldn’t know that there are honest people in the world who don’t steal. I wouldn't know it was possible to tell the truth. I wouldn’t know that there is truth in the world.”

Reading his immortal “Matt” - in which, it seems, the embodiment of Korczak himself, reading the story of the life and death of the great teacher, you ask yourself one single question: can I live this life as bravely, decently, strongly? Everyone will probably answer differently for themselves. But if one person did it, then why not others?

It is very useful to read stories about the lives of wonderful people. These were (and are) absolutely real people, we meet them on the street, the only difference is that their life is a feat. Shall we meet each other?

What will be your feat?

Film "The Same Munchausen"

It happens that going to work every day is, to some extent, a feat.

It seems that only other people, some special people far from us, accomplish feats. However, lying down once is probably easier than actually taking care of your loved ones every day or at least going to bed on time. Daily feat is clear and simple. Your feat is a great and difficult undertaking, for which you will especially respect yourself.

Thanks to Baron Munchausen from the wonderful film written by Grigory Gorin, he, of course, gave this hint: “10.00. The day’s schedule includes “Feat.” Indeed, what is it like: a day, and without a feat?

What can be a feat?

  • Have a difficult conversation with your mom without getting offended? - “I’m not saying that this is a feat, but there is something heroic in it...”
  • Solution: “I’ll douse myself with cold water all week!” - We sing a song to the madness of the brave!
  • Go to bed on time? - It just seems like a simple matter...
  • Maybe your feat will be that you start running. And not just run for a while, but assign yourself a clear, specific route, and you will time the time of each run - with the condition that during a given week, every day you must run at least a second, but earlier than yesterday... Every day is a victory over yesterday's self. However, perhaps after a while you will get used to it, then you will remove jogging from the category of feat and do something else as a feat.
  • One - and throw out the TV!
  • Pull yourself up a bit. He came up and pulled himself up!
  • Giving up computer games is easy: you erase the directories and break the boot disks.
  • Sign up for the pool, ban yourself from dinner after 20.00...

Maybe today your Feat will be to eat this nasty Frog, but it’s better if every day you have all these different things to do.

Today Frog: I’m going to the doctor. Today Cleaning: I will dismantle the shelf in the kitchen. And also, today I will get up in an organized manner and have time to run before work, and today I will run not a shortened, but a full route, and make the final dash of 100 meters - long live the Feat!

The fresh wind of a possible feat invigorates and pleasantly cools the soul... As long as feats are possible in your life, you are alive, and your Maximum of life is ahead!

Is there always room for achievement?

Let's think about whether it is always possible to accomplish a feat. It would seem, of course, always. After all, what could be better and more noble than when a person is ready to risk his life to save another?

On the one hand, this is true. But we must remember that any bold action must be worthwhile. You shouldn’t get into trouble just so that everyone will admire your courage. Think about it: every person has his own family, or at least a person who depends on him. Unjustified risk, which can lead to serious and sometimes fatal consequences, can destroy the lives of people who love and are waiting for you.

Therefore, before deciding on a heroic act, think for just a few seconds - is it necessary in this situation? You should not climb into a burning house if a fire brigade is already working there, and rush to help rescuers if they are coping with their task themselves. Remember, a feat is a sincere act of a person who is not looking for benefits, but sensibly assesses the current situation.

We hope that an essay on the topic “Feat” will make many people think about how important such actions are in our lives. There is no need to think that a feat is some kind of exclusively heroic act. Helping the sick and poor, caring for other people's children, caring for the people around - these days this is a small feat, but a feat.

A mini-essay on the topic “Feat” is perfect not only for discussions about life, but also for school written works and speeches.

Writing an essay on the topic of life as a feat

If we find the definition of “what a feat is,” we will read that “a feat is a heroic, selfless act.” A feat in war is understandable: you take the heights, cover the embrasure with your chest, and you are a hero, even if often posthumously. However, in peacetime it is difficult to imagine what is considered a feat. After all, if in wartime you can at least receive an order for heroism, then in peacetime there is not always a place for the hero himself. In our time, even a kind attitude towards people, the sick, the elderly, and children can be considered a feat. Moving an elderly person across the road or giving up a seat on the bus is already an act. I thought for a long time what would be considered a feat now and found the story of a simple boy, almost my age, or rather, he would still be one now if he had not tragically died saving his mother at the cost of his life. I was very shocked by this story, I understand that anyone would have done the same in his place, but the indifferent attitude of other people to the misfortune that happened to a stranger is also surprising. “I don’t know what will happen to me in the future and where fate will take me, but I know for sure that I will always live in Russia, work honestly and help my mother.” These sincere words are from the composition of 16-year-old Evgeniy Kovrizhnykh. The tragedy occurred on August 10, 2010 in the Rybinsk region, at a dacha. Zoya Gennadievna was painting the caisson and lost consciousness. Zhenya, who at that time was in a completely different place, in the apiary, seemed to sense trouble and rushed to help. Finding the mother unconscious, he went down into the caisson to provide first aid, wet a rag with water and put it on her face, trying to pull her closer to the exit, where there was fresh air. Thanks to this, the woman remained alive. But my son didn’t... He was poisoned by toxic paint fumes in a closed room. The boy's aunt, who discovered her relatives in an unconscious state, herself, of course, could not do anything. And as luck would have it, there was no one at the dacha. She tried to stop the car, but strangers refused to help... Calling rescuers by cell phone, as it turned out, was also a problem. The operators' help desks kept giving more and more phone numbers without responding to calls for help. But every second was precious! Life is sometimes monstrously unfair. It is impossible to understand why such young people, full of huge and bright plans, are leaving us. And Zhenya Kovrizhnykh was exactly like that. “Was” - this word seems unnatural when a boy with an unusually open, charming smile looks at you from a photograph. Zhenya loved sports, music, played the piano wonderfully, studied at the Young Sailors' Club, dreamed of entering a military university and becoming a ship captain. “Man is not eternal. But after him, the work of his hands remains,” these are also lines from, unfortunately, the last essay in his life. It seems that this was written not by a sixteen-year-old teenager, but by a mature person who has already experienced a lot in his lifetime. And it seems that throughout his entire life, this smiling, charming boy seemed to be preparing for a feat. Fate decreed that he did it. But, alas, he did it so early. Zhenya’s heroic act means saving her mother’s life. But not only. This is an example for all his peers, for all of us, of how one can live one’s life – cleanly, honestly and nobly. And it's also memory. There is still a page of Evgeniy Kovrizhnykh on the Internet “VKontakte”, now it is dedicated to his memory. There are poems, photographs, memories. And every day there are more and more of them. Those people who knew him write the kindest and warmest words. People still wish him a happy birthday. Here are the lines from his page: Evgeniy Kovrizhnykh Status: Zhenechka died on August 10, 2010, saving his mother. Birthday: November 28, 1993 Hometown: Rybinsk Marital status: actively searching Sister: Natalya Alferova “Zhenya, today you are 18 years old... Happy Birthday... You will forever remain in our memory, and in our hearts... We remember you... “Honestly, reading his page, I could barely hold back my tears and could not resist writing him congratulations on February 23, as many did today. Evgeny Kovrizhnykh was nominated for the Order of Courage. Posthumously... And the School of Young Sailors that Zhenya attended now bears his name, which means that the memory of him will remain in the hearts of people for a long time.
