The royal couple has long dreamed of having children.
One day a miracle happens. The king and queen have a daughter. A luxurious celebration is held at the palace. Not only people, but also fairies are invited to attend. Seven sorceresses are invited to present unique gifts to the newborn girl. At the height of the celebration, the eighth fairy appears. They forgot to invite her because no one had seen her for a long time. Everyone believed that this fairy had died. She was seated with honors at the table, but was not given gold cutlery, like other fairies. They were made specifically for the number of sorceresses invited. This greatly offended the eighth fairy.
When the time came to give gifts to the newborn princess, the offended fairy predicted that the girl would die in the prime of her youth. This will happen when she pricks herself with a spindle. The seventh fairy, who did not have time to give the girl a gift, consoled the king and queen. She promised that the girl would not die, but would only fall asleep for a hundred years. Then the charming prince will wake her up with a kiss.
After the holiday, the king issued a decree to destroy all spinning wheels and spindles in the kingdom. But this did not save the princess. At the age of 15, she pricked herself with a spindle when she wandered into an old tower. There the old fairy sat with a spinning wheel at work. The curious girl also tried a new type of needlework. Thus the prophecy of the eighth fairy came true.
The girl fell asleep soundly. The seventh fairy immediately found out about this and softened the curse of the offended sorceress. She arrived at the palace and consoled the princess's parents. They left the castle, and the fairy touched the entire royal retinue and guards with her magic wand. She wanted the princess to see familiar faces when she woke up and not feel alone.
The king issued an order that no one should dare approach this castle. Many years later. A dense forest surrounded the castle. One day a handsome prince arrived there to hunt. He heard from a peasant the legend of the sleeping beauty and decided to look at her. The thickets themselves parted before him as he moved towards the castle.
When the prince entered the castle, he found a dazzlingly beautiful princess. He knelt down by her bed, and the girl woke up from her sleep. The young people liked each other and got married.

At the beginning of the story, she was just born, the fairy godmothers endowed her with many virtues, making her the most beautiful, kind, talented and smart. Unfortunately, due to a mistake by her parents, she fell under a spell and fell asleep for 100 years along with the entire castle and servants. The brave prince woke her up with a kiss.
- The prince is a brave young man, the son of the reigning king. While hunting, he saw an enchanted castle and learned the legend of the enchanted princess. Curious, he made his way through the thickets and found the girl. Enchanted by her beauty, he kissed the princess and woke her up.
- 7 good fairies - princess godmothers. They were invited to the princess's birthday party and gave her many wonderful gifts: beauty, a kind heart, an inquisitive mind, a beautiful voice, the ability to dance and play all musical instruments. One of the fairies, the seventh, reduced the effect of the evil spell and was almost able to save the princess.
- The evil witch is an old sorceress who was not invited to the holiday. She cast a spell on the princess, only a lucky chance helped to remove it.
- The king and queen are the princess's elderly parents, caring and loving. By not inviting the evil fairy to the holiday, they provoked her anger and unwittingly became the cause of the curse.
- An old peasant is a resident of a neighboring village. He told the prince the story of the enchanted castle and the princess, after which the young man decided to try his luck.
In addition, the text mentions the servants of the king and queen, the prince's retinue. In some versions of the fairy tale, there is a woman with a spindle - this is an old woman who sat in the castle tower (according to other versions, an evil fairy in disguise). She handed the princess a spindle and pricked her.

He noticed a high tower and asked the servants what kind of castle was located in the middle of the forest. I really like the main character.
She is shown as a kind, inquisitive, cheerful girl.
And she deserved her happiness with the prince.

Suddenly, in the midst of the fun, the oldest and most unsociable fairy appeared, about whom everyone had long forgotten. She was very offended that she was not given due attention and was not given gold cutlery like everyone else.
Immediately after the feast, the king ordered the destruction of every single spinning wheel and spindle in the kingdom. However, exactly fifteen years later, the princess accidentally wandered to the very top of the old tower, where she met that same old fairy with a spinning wheel. She pricked her finger and fell into a deep sleep, and with her everyone who lived in the kingdom.
A dense forest grew around the castle, and everyone forgot about it. A hundred years later, a young prince, who was hunting in these parts, passed by. Having heard an ancient legend about a beautiful sleeping princess, he really wanted to see her with his own eyes. The dense thickets parted before the prince, and he found himself in the castle, where he found the princess and woke her up. The young people fell in love with each other at first sight and got married.

The fairy tales “Rike with the Tuft” and “Cinderella” were also published in it. The first of them is half forgotten today, but everyone remembers the second.
However, it was the tale of Sleeping Beauty that came first. This suggests that for Charles Perrault she was a favorite. In his presentation, the whole story looks like this: once upon a time there lived a king and a queen who dreamed of children for a long time. And so, when their long-awaited daughter was finally born, they decided to have a celebration. All the fairy sorceresses of the kingdom were invited to the palace for a feast, except for one, whom no one had seen for a long time, because she had not left her tower for more than 50 years. Be that as it may, this witch came to the holiday without an invitation.
The guests presented the girl with their gifts. Among the guests were kind sorceresses, each of whom awarded the little girl with dignity: beauty, talent, virtue.
