The work tells the story of the 171st patrol in Karelia, the commandant of which was Sergeant Major Fedot Evgrafovich Vaskov. Anti-aircraft installations were installed at the crossing to protect strategic objects. Finding themselves in this quiet place, the men became drunk from idleness. The commander asked his superiors to send soldiers who did not drink. At his request, 2 squads of trained girls operating anti-aircraft guns were sent to patrol.
