Summary

The girl to whom nothing will happen

From early childhood, Alisa Selezneva was distinguished by increased curiosity, the ability to “do everything wrong, disappear at the most inopportune time” and even accidentally make discoveries that were beyond the power of “the greatest scientists of our time.” Her father is a professor who works at a zoo. On duty, he often visited other planets, and often took his daughter on trips.

One day, a fossil brontosaurus egg came to the zoo and was placed in a special incubator. When a small brontosaurus hatched from him, Alice named the baby Brontei and easily tamed him.

One day, Professor Seleznev took Alice with him to Mars, “when he flew there for a conference.” He introduced her to local attractions, and then “sent her to a boarding school for a week.” On the third day the girl disappeared. Everyone went crazy looking for her. It soon became clear that Alice flew on a postal rocket to the desert, where she accidentally discovered the ancient pyramids of the Tutexes - a mysterious Martian civilization.

Alice had “many familiar animals,” but her favorite was Shusha, a gift from the famous cosmonaut who returned from Sirius. Shushonok looked like a small six-fingered kangaroo with large dragonfly eyes. He turned out to be an extremely smart animal: he quickly learned to talk and read.

Alice's birthday

On the eve of Alice's birthday, her father was thinking about what to give his inquisitive daughter. The situation was saved by Professor Seleznev’s old friend, the space archaeologist Gromozeka “from the planet Chumaroz.” Gromozeka is much larger than an ordinary person, “he has ten tentacles, eight eyes, a shell on his chest and three kind, stupid hearts.”

He said that he was exploring the “dead planet Koleida,” on which a hundred years ago all the people and animals died for an unknown reason. Now there are “only ruins, the wind is howling, the rain is falling.” There were suspicions that the inhabitants of the planet were victims of a “cosmic plague epidemic.” To find out, Gromozeka asked scientists for a time machine and invited Alice to take a fascinating journey into the past, a hundred years ago. Professor Seleznev agreed - it was the best gift for his daughter’s birthday.

Gromozeka entrusted Alice with an important task: to go back in time and spray a vaccine against a deadly virus. The girl will have to go through many exciting and sometimes very dangerous adventures before she fulfills Gromozeka’s instructions and saves the planet Koleida from a terrible fate.

Alice's Journey

Professor Seleznev promised Alice, at the end of second grade, to take her with him “on a summer expedition” to collect rare animals on other planets. After several weeks of careful preparation, the crew of the Pegasus spaceship - Captain Poloskov, mechanic Zeleny and Professor Seleznev and his daughter - were ready for flight.

On the Moon they met their good friend Gromozeka, who, having learned about the purpose of the expedition, told about the “planet named after the Three Captains.” According to Gromozeki, “the captains met many rare, wonderful animals and birds,” and, for sure, useful entries can be found in their diaries. He advised his friends to go to this planet and meet with Doctor Verkhovtsev, who knew about the captains “more than anyone else in the Galaxy.”

"Pegasus" headed for the planet Blook, which was famous for its bazaar, popular among collectors from all over the Galaxy. Here you could find the most amazing, rarest animals. The professor acquired invisible fish, an indicator that can change “color depending on his mood” and many more unique creatures.

But the most important acquisition was the talker bird, which belonged to one of the three great captains. From her, the travelers learned that one of the captains was in trouble and urgently needed help. The talker gave clear instructions: “Keep a course for the Medusa system.” Meanwhile, Doctor Verkhovtsev and his friend, a fat man nicknamed Veselchak U, began hunting for the rare bird. It was clear that they were pursuing some selfish goals of their own.

Captain Poloskov decided to go to help the captain, although Zeleny predicted serious troubles. Along the way, they visited the planet Shelezyaku, which gave them a distress signal. It turned out that its inhabitants - robots - were struck by a terrible epidemic that completely immobilized them.

One day, robots saved a wounded talker by replacing his broken wing with a prosthesis. Having learned about this, a man who looked like Doctor Verkhovtsev took revenge on them and added diamond chips to the lubricant. Leaving the robots with a barrel of clean lubricant, the travelers set off for the Medusa system.

On the Third Planet, Pegasus fell into the trap of space pirates. In the underground bunker, travelers saw the Blue Seagull, the ship of the missing Second Captain, who had not left him for four years.

At that moment, pirates appeared - Verkhovtsev and Veselchak U. They threatened the Second that if he did not give them the “formula of galactium - absolute fuel,” they would brutally torture the travelers. The captain opened fire on the pirates. Unexpectedly, the First Captain and the real Doctor Verkhovtsev, brought by Alice, came to his rescue.

The captains managed to neutralize the pirates, one of whom turned out to be the vile Rat, cleverly disguised as Verkhovtsev. In the underground dungeon, friends found the barely alive Third Captain.

When all worries were left behind, Alice told her father that the captains had promised to take her with them “to another galaxy” when she grew up a little.

Alice's Travels

Alice went with her father and several other members of the expedition to other planets to collect interesting specimens of animals. They get to their destination and buy rare animals. The Govorun bird became a real find for scientists. She spoke the language of captains and told the story that her captain was in trouble and was now being held hostage by space pirates.

The entire expedition sets off in search of the missing captains and successfully reaches their destination. There they are captured by pirates, but Alice was able to help her father and the captains get out of the dungeon and escape, taking with her all the things of the captains in trouble. If it weren’t for the girl’s ingenuity, her father and all members of the expedition would have died. The captains thank the girl for saving them and the spaceships, and fly off about their business. The father also thanks Alice and admits that she is the smartest and bravest girl in the entire galaxy.
